Historic pier with plenty of adventure to be found
Bournemouth Pier was first built in the mid-19th century, and after many natural disasters and extensions it has become what we know of it today. Based on Bournemouth beach, the pier is opposite a big wheel and a Harry Ramsden's restaurant. It costs £1.30 for adults and £0.90 for children to go along the pier (family tickets are also available), but it's a small price to ensure the upkeep of such a historic landmark.
On the pier (besides great views of the coastline) are a café and an Adventure Park, with the first pier-to-coast zip line. Needless to say that is not dog friendly!
For a change of pace or a chance to take photographs and watch the waves roll in, Bournemouth Pier is great. In the summer months, you cannot take your pooch on the beach, so it is great you have somewhere to potter about with them.
The pier is open from 9:00 to 23:00 in the summer and 16:00 in the winter, though it's best to check before visiting.
